The Japan Meme: Day 25
False-Colour Satellite Photographs From Space

Mark Twain's autobiography -- which he requested only be published 100 years after his death -- is very popular

I was going to see Battle Royale 3D, but I don't feel like it. I'm going to send out my query/synopsis tonight. Last call if anyone wants to offer their services to look them over. I really just want to know if it's coherent to someone who hasn't read the book.

Day 25 - Most interesting vending machine find.

# I was walking part of the way home with Eda last year when we stumbled upon a vending machine full of random blingy toys.

# Food from vending machines is not very common, so I was surprised to find most of the vending machines along a road near my apartment have one slot for Kit Kats.

# I try not to buy drinks from vending machines now because they're not healthy, but I always used to look forward to the switchover from summer to autumn, when the hot cans start appearing in the machines again.

# Weiss Kreuz fans might remember that Yuriko always bought her evil energy drink from a certain vending machines. This is because every vending is run by a different drinks company and the selection is always different. I used to be a big fan of Max Coffee when I lived in Chiba, but it's not (or didn't used to be) sold much outside of that prefecture because in the drinks industry, Chiba folks are said to prefer more sugary drinks.

# I've only ever seen one porn vending machine. It was about a thirty minutes walk from the station in a fairly rural area. I don't think I'd want to live in a place like that -- either the residents are too stupid to figure out how to use the internet or the connection speed is sub-par. Either way, it doesn't speak well of the area.

# I saw 'samurai' coffee for sale the other day. The can had a design on it to make it look like it was wearing a samurai. There are about six famous samurai to collect.

Wow, and autobiography of Mark Twain! ...though the request sounds exactly like what that man would do.

I would totally go see BR3D just for the nostalgia's sake, but for some reason I'm not...dying to see it. Probably because of Ooku...

I think that's the hook that got people interested in the first place -- like there might actually be something new inside.

Same. I think it's something I have to see with people and no one I know is into that level of gore and/or goes crazy over 3D like I do.

The samurai coffee sounds like it was fun. Having recently watched Sengoku Basara, I'd probably enjoy collecting those. :-)

Sounds like you would! Actually, I saw it in another vending machine and took a picture this time (along with pancake flavour hot milkshake), so I'll post that soon. :-)
