You'll never guess what I rented last night!

Go on...

The Chronicles of Narnia! No, not the recent movie, but the ancient British BBC series! Although I've never seen it for sale in Britain, I found it in a rental shop over here... And we watched it with Japanese subs. I think, if we fiddled around with it, we could probably listen to the dub.

Anyway, I wanted to rent the first disk, but they were all out. Yes, apparently there are lots of Japanese people around here who want to watch this series(?). So, I got the second disk, which had Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

The special effects are truly special... For the centaurs, they've visibly pasted half a man onto a horse. The opening music brings back quite a few memories! I remember those weekend afternoons watching with my parents... Wow.

The 'wah, what do I do on my days off?' 'angst' continues. Although, as it happens, I've got a Sunday off at the end of March and I'm trying for the Saturday next to it too. I'm planning to go to the Tokyo International Anime Fair. Anyone else going?

Interestingly, I was helping train a woman at work today and it turns out that she's a big anime fan! She's going to be working in the same branch as J. I told her to pass on her keitai number once she gets one. Is it too much to hope that we might share a day off? I have a number of friends here, but they all work Monday-Friday...

Naruto Stage tickets go on general sale on Sunday... I'm hoping for better luck with them!

As other people on my list have already noted, February 22nd is a super-lucky day... for cats! It's to do with the fact that '2' can be read something like 'nya' in Japanese, which is the sound a cat makes. So the date 22/2 can be read as 'nya nya nya'.
