I was reminded why the rest of my anime club didn't want to watch beyond the first two episodes. Because Kira and Athrun are utterly smitten with each other and spend most of their time thinking about each other one way or another.
I'm just worried that I won't understand the rest of it. Y'know, when the plot starts.
I'm a bit down right now because I bought a ticket to the Nerima Daikon Brothers event and am having extreme difficulty getting time off work to go to it. See, the way it's meant to happen is you can swap your shift with anyone who's available, but on this one Sunday nobody can do it. I've never asked for a shift swap before and have always done them for other people, but when it's my turn, no one wants to help! I feel really let down.
I went to Rock'n Jam Musical II a few nights ago. I thought I wasn't going to get to see it because I just couldn't find the theatre! It took me half an hour just to figure out how to get out of Shinjuku station in the right direction! The problem was that I wanted a specific exit in order to use the map I'd found, but there's a south exit, a southern terrace exit, a south west exit, a south east exit... or something. Well, I never did find the exit I wanted, but I did get there in the end because I went into an office block and asked for directions from the security guard there. He was actually really helpful!
It was really good. My favourite character was the mad doctor played by ROLLY (I think?), which is pretty unsurprising to anyone who knows me. He didn't appear nearly enough! Also, I was surprised by how much m/m fanservice there was (two of the characters were definitely meant to be almost a couple, in my opinion). I really should stop being surprised by that considering how many plays I go to that are aimed at women! :P
I'm listening to the single featuring 'Bokura no Uchuu' (sung by Nagayama Takashi, Kawano Naoki and Yanagisawa Nana) and 'Mirai' (sung by Takuya and Date Kouji). I really wanted the live soundtrack that they advertised in the back of the program, but I didn't see it for sale and I really had to dash in order to get home before the last train. By the fastest method, it still takes about two hours to get from Space Zero in Shinjuku to my flat. Anyway, I have to confess that these two were not my favourite songs from the musical, but the gothic-style themes they played throughout. Still good songs though.
I wonder if there'll be a DVD? I only heard a few non-original songs, one of which was the Japanese version of 'Memories' from Cats (I think?). So maybe they could do it, if they made a few edits.
