I got the album over a year ago when it was leaked onto the internet early and -- in a fit of complete dorkiness -- downloaded it just because I could. Turned out to be an incredible album. But when my Creative MP3 player died (Don't buy Creative products, they're RUBBISH!), I lost the files and felt bad about downloading it again because I really did like it enough to buy it.
Depeche Mode's "Precious" [Lyrics] is the perfect song for Weiss, particularly Ken. I always imagine either Crawford or Schuldig, but I know I'm alone in imagining a background for them where they're innocent until violated by the cruelty of Rosenkreuz. Damaged People [Lyrics] is SO Schuldig x Crawford. To me. XD
But when Pandora gets it wrong, it really gets it wrong. I caught it playing Cliff Richard based on some misguided notion that I like disco influences. It also played Pulp just now... Don't get me wrong, I used to like Pulp but I really have to be in the mood for them. Listen to a Pulp song at the wong time and you'll end up feeling ripped to shreds and miserable.
Like, say, now.
My station is here.
What They Say: Named in honor of the most notorious female pirate to ever set sail. Wicked, cruel, beautiful, intelligent, resourceful and dangerous: a true role model. A blend of Indonesian red patchouli, red sandalwood, and frankincense.
Bottle: Wood and florals. Smells like furniture.
Skin: Still smells like furniture...
Dried: Yes, furniture. But the sexiest, manliest furniture ever. XD The sandalwood is really coming out too. I really, really love this one, believe it or not. Agressive and lasts for a while.
What They Say: A very tricky kitty, indeed. Used most often as a key to bringing back the joy one needs to have in life in order for living to feel worthwhile. Brings back a sense of delight in simple pleasures, and creates a surge of childlike curiosity and a youthful sense of fun. This blend can also be used to reverse troublesome lesser crossings, create a playful air of catlike sexuality, and, because cats will be cats, it can also be used to throw minor, irritating or bothersome hexes, causing small amounts of chaos and disruption to your foes.
Bottle: Nothing. I think I have a cold.
Skin: Nope, nothing.
Dried: *Sigh* Nothing. And I can't say my day was any better than usual. In fact, it was the worst day in the last two weeks because my cold almost slaughtered me. Still, people were stunningly nice to me. Perhaps it would've been even worse without this...? Or perhaps you need to be able to smell it?
What They Say: This blend is an artful deception: a sweet gilded blossom lying over a twisted and corrupted core. A Victorian fougere with three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea.
Skin: Sweet... and florals?
Dried: To be honest, this doesn't seem particularly special to me. It's quite nice and sweet, but that's it. I might try again when I'm sure I'm completely sure I'm over the cold. I ordered so many scents that I quite forgot why I ordered each one, so I'm reviewing and then checking out the description again. Reading it once more makes me what to try it one more time. See if I can smell the tea.
Cow-orkers: "Does someone have marshmallows?" FAIL XD
What They Say: The rich scent of wild blackberry breezing over gentle rosy heather.
I wonder if the makers have ever been to Glasgow? Because it certainly doesn't smell like this. In fact, it smells like blood, beer and less pleasant fluids...
Bottle: Blackberry cordial.
Skin: Blackberry cordial and honey.
Dried: Love this! The blackberry is quite strong. Mmm... I smell lovely. I experienced no sudden urge to knife someone over a disagreeament about football either. Success!
Cow-orkers: "Does someone have curry?" "Err... no. Do you mean this?" *wrist-sniff* "Yes! Like Hare Krishna's incense and curry! I always get the two mixed up, since they're always together." "Umm..." DOUBLE FAIL XD
What They Say: His scent is dry elm bark, amaranth, warrior’s musk, and Odin’s Nine Herbs of Power.
My husband tried this, not me. He was curious about my new stash.
Husband: "And now I want a spear! And a horned helmet!" Umm... Success...?
Today was Setsubun, but I couldn't go to a shrine because I was working. But one of my students gave me some beans so I could do it at home. With my husband, I just threw the beans out of my apartment door shouting "Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!" ("Oni outside! Luck inside!").
...I hope the neighbours understand.
I posted on my Mixi for the first time (thanks for the invite fencer_x!)... but I'm too scared to join communities. Me = fail.
I am feeling down on my writing since I don't even seem to be able to meet the deadline tomorrow for BBSS.
