So... we met up with some people including gokumew2 to look at Gundam for free. They have an exhibition in Ikebukuro Sunshine City, mostly to promote merchandise for Gundam 00. I have to say... it totally worked for me! I felt completely manipulated, but even though I'm only vaguely interested in Gundam, I was still eyeing up the event-exclusive Gundam 00 handtowels.
They had a lot of models from the past, but the coolest thing was the giant models of the new Gundam and trailers featuring the characters. One thing that really interested me though -- one of the key characters is twenty four! Another is nineteen! By Gundam standards, that's ancient! I'm so HAPPY! That means they've fixed one of the problems I've had with it in the past. My favourite, however, is the one piloting Virtue who looks a bit like a cross between TnO's Oshitari and Loveless' Kio. Age unknown, according to his profile. He'll probably die, you know, since all my favourite characters do. That's my OTHER problem with Gundam!
They announce the seiyuu on Sunday. I thought about going, but I promised kuroe that we would go to Matsumoto, or a simply spend a day doing something together. Can I really drag him to an anime convention...? It has to be said that you can only see the Gundam announcement if you get ahold of a numbered ticket.
After that, we went to a "Terra e" display at Animate. It looked pretty interesting, particularly "Keith", Koyasu Takehito-sama's character. It also looked too epic. I don't mind epic in scale, but epic in time kind of scares me and makes me feel strange. Does that make sense?
I went home soon after (did you notice I didn't mention anything about eating during all that?) and decided to get a Shounen Onmyouji ticket since it was payday. I made a mistake and got the wrong ticket though. It's a Monday and I completely forgot I won't have Mondays off in two months time! However, it's also a national holiday, so maybe I'll have it off anyway? Does anyone know if Taiiku no Hi (Sports Day Holiday) is always a day off from school? I will have to either find out in October or just give it to kuroe, but the tickets will all be gone by the time I know...
(Or maybe not, since it was so easy to get final performance tickets five or so days after the sales date...)
GOOD NEWS: THERE HAS BEEN AN UPDATE TO THE VELVET UNDER WORLD SITE!
Bad news: It's not about anything anyone cares about.
Under 'special', it tells you about how you can collect and distribute Velvet Under World fliers at Comiket. Now, I was very excited to find a flier at Animate the other day, but that's not news.
Koyasu Takehito-sama has updated his journal, but I don't have much time left for translation. I can already tell you the gist of the first part: It is very hot in Tokyo and he likes the cold. Why, yes. Yes it is!
