New writing link, featuring interviews with first time authors: The First Book

One thing, however, gave me pause. One of the questions is about cats. Writers are assumed to have cats.

Well, yes... but... if so, what a curious trend!

Just a note, like most qvizzuz i do understand this can't be comprehensive, but it bears noting that Cat ownership does not preclude nor negate Dog ownership. and circumstances can be whack: you housesit a cat that becomes yours while wishing for a dog, you don't like it and didn't want it, so do you really count as "having a cat" in a qviz that seems to measure preference? ah, that's it - happenstance vs preference is difficult to account for.

This simply shows that there far more variables at work here. A cat that becomes "yours" after housesitting him/her for a while would be an even greater indicator of mysterious cat-related forces.
