Drinking cherry liquor and listening to Velvet Underworld. Translating as I go.

I can't translate to a high level in the best of circumstances. This is going to suck. :P

It starts with a guy saying a prayer - Lerajie. Kuro does a quick recap through voice-over. AYA says something Dramatic and has a chit-chat with Lerajie while Kuro continues the voice-over. Lerajie says - but don't quote me on this - "Mixed Paranoia are God's troops -- the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end." (Why does he think this? He sounds a bit happier about 'shuuen no omega' though!). More recapping from Kuro
Lerajie talks about Sodom and Gomorrah and other Biblical stuff. He tries to set something alight, but his fire goes out (lit by pesticides, I think?) and he goes "Why it dun burn?? Why??" And AYA says that he killed Birman...

Wait a second.

I've clearly got it wrong here. Last time, Birman was alive... right? And they'd killed ten of Mixed Paranoia, with three more people to kill, which were Teiou Sekai, Nanatsume and an unknown character. Now we have Lerajie alive and Birman dead, so this should fit in between #0 and #1 drama CDs. So the unknown character was(?) Lerajie. Except you already know that Bonemania, Blade and Volt appear in this.

A bit more from this track:

Aya: I'm gonna kill you with mah necktie.
Lerajie: Je...Jesus.
Aya: For my memories. For my past. For the sake of returning what was lost, I will kill you. This is my revenge! *squishy neckties sounds*

Lerajie dies saying 'I can see the light...'

13: Teiou Sekai
12: Lerajie <-- Birman is now dead(?). Blade, Bonemania, Volt are alive.
11: Nanatsume <-- Birman was alive.
10: Vulcanus

I... don't understand. Conclusion: I totally misheard everything... and this is only track one. Anyone up for six more tracks of a drunk guy just pulling random Japanese out of his arse?

EDIT: athena8 confirmed that Birman IS dead (and Blueberry, oops) and so we do indeed have a massive timeline problem. The later tracks will clarify that this isn't necessarily a plothole. :)

Volt comes charging in and Bonemania also makes an appearance. Bonemania doesn't sound quite like what I expected, but I love his voice. I'd hit it. Doctor and (Mister) Blade are also there. Everyone shows off their neuroses and it's clear everyone present is madder than a hatful of monkeys.

It's announced Lerajie is dead... so the timeline doesn't jump around on the same CD. What is going on? Mister Blade finishes by saying it's all for the freedom of Mixed Paranoia.

Noi x Aya. A name is burned off.
Aya wakes up and everyone rushes to help him. He starts babbling about "that place". It was a big building with grey walls. Kuro, DRY, Pawn and Miwa show him photos of as many big, grey-walled buildings as they can find... he sees the building eventually. It's the main building of the Japanese police force.

http://www.keishicho.metro.tokyo.jp/welcome/honbu/honbu.htm <-- I think?

V is kind of annoying and gets angry with them because they're supposed to be tracking down Mixed Paranoia. Dry says its the first time he's seen her like that.

Kuro and Aya talk. Kuro tells him not to catch a cold because his body is important. Kuro joined Erinis because of Aya. Once Aya's memories return, his work is done. I think he says that he wants to (be forced to) continue for just a bit longer. Aya laughs nervously and says he's surprised. Then... well, it sure sounds like flirting to me! Kuro finishes by saying he's a photographer. Just a photographer. AYA concludes that he's a strange guy. Noi turns up and I can barely hear her. AYA and Kuro agree Aya will sleep and Kuro will talk to V for him. He departs saying 'sweet dreams' to Aya.

Kuro and V talk over a drink of... absinthe? She goes up in my opinion! Cheers! *downs cherry liquor and goes for more* V tells him it's too early for AYA to go to 'that place'.

Continued... tomorrow, maybe? Don't translate it just yet, thank you. It's kind of ...crappy right now. This was never going to be a great summary-translation anyway.

So, from this it seems that there is something big with A.Y.A. and the Main Brnach of the Police Force. I'm so forgetful. We still odn't know who Aya was before all of this, right?

Also, Aya/Luro subtext is lovely.
Ally.Cgacktyougirl on 13th April 2010 17:20 (UTC)
And I'm totally sober and made that many typoes. Ugh.
Williamgenkischuldich on 13th April 2010 22:30 (UTC)
Well, we know he was in the police and called Tomoe, but I don't know if that was in the CD dramas or if it's meta.

The AYA/Kuro subtext might just be my imagination...

Tomoe? Oh Koyasu, you and your effeminate names for your male main characters.

I can handle imaginary subtext. I'd probably be imagining uit as well.

I feel like a boob, and I should probably just use Google-fu, but I have found the courage to ask-- what is Velvet Underground?
Williamgenkischuldich on 14th April 2010 12:27 (UTC)
It's okay. :P

Basically, I'm a fan of a seiyuu-driven anime called Weiss Kreuz, which is over a decade old now. One of the seiyuu/voice actors (who was also behind the planning for the anime I just mentioned) came out with a new project called Velvet Underworld. He tends to have 'interesting' (but... kinda cool) ideas, which is part of the fun. Right now, VUW characters songs plus drama CDs are coming out at regular intervals, and I try to translate/summarise/upload them as quickly as I can. There's a fandom of around ten or so people waiting, after all. :)

Thank you very-very much!
You would't mind me sharing the facts you mentioned with the Russian VUW community, would you? You are our only source of information since none of us has listened to the drama ^^
Williamgenkischuldich on 14th April 2010 12:39 (UTC)
Yeah, I did say not to translate it just yet, but it's a bit late now. My main point was that I couldn't have heard what I thought I heard (Birman's death), since that ruins the timeline.

13: Teiou Sekai
12: ???
11: Nanatsume <-- Birman was alive (confirmed by Fallen Star). There are 'three more MP left' (also confirmed by Fallen Star).
10: Vulcanus

??: Lerajie <-- Birman is now dead (My own attempt at translating, done while drunk. Not reliable!). Blade, Bonemania, Volt are alive (Obvious from CD listing).

Velvet also says that Aya visiting that building from his past is 'too soon'. A strange thing to say if he was one person away from getting back his memories. This CD and Lerajie's killing MUST be earlier in the timeline...

As it is now, this timeline makes no sense. Birman can't be dead and I must've misheard. I'll listen to the rest though. :)
outsatiableoutsatiable on 14th April 2010 13:02 (UTC)
It won't be the first time Koyasu mixes things up across the timelines.
outsatiableoutsatiable on 14th April 2010 13:08 (UTC)
BTW isn't it AYA who says that Birman is dead? But he can't remember it, and he can be told anything.
菖蒲eye_ame on 17th April 2010 10:18 (UTC)
I believe it was DRY.
