The Japan 30-day Meme: Day 01 - A picture of you "in Japan". (doing or wearing something "Japanese")

I love photography, but I don't have that many of myself and if there's "something Japanese" going on, I'm probably the one taking photos of it. So there are no photos of me at the Tokyo Game Show or fire-walking at the base of Mt. Takao or standing on the streets of Shibuya at 5am.

Here's the next-best thing I could find - a photo from my phone of me at an all-you-can-eat cake buffet in Shinjuku. I'm putting on that angry expression because I have a weird sense of humour.

Me in Japan (f-locked)

Haha, that's an awesome photo. XD Nice juxtaposition, you looking all cool and Crawford-esque against that crazy background. Also. ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT-CAKE-BUFFET. Do want!

This meme is intriguing. Might have to give it a shot after the 30 days one I'm already on.
Williamgenkischuldich on 23rd September 2010 07:50 (UTC)
"Crawford-esque"? Well looks like someone knows how to flatter me. :) It's called Sweets Paradise and it's a chain, so there may be one near you.

You could do it simultaneously...
Rae: Eeteuk// oh my!guiltyschu on 23rd September 2010 08:51 (UTC)
Heh, well, I know it's the aesthetic you're going for, and you're doing it well, so it seemed an appropriate descriptor. ;D

Oh my. There is one fairly nearby. What evil have you unleashed. XD

I could do it simultaneously, but I'm already so wordy, if I did two memes at once I'd have to spend all day typing at my computer!

I agree with guiltyschu's assessment of the photo. Definitely Crawford-esque ^__^ I wish they had something like Sweets Paradise here in the States. It would be Much fun.

(I'm enjoying reading the various entries on the meme, btw)
Williamgenkischuldich on 28th September 2010 07:29 (UTC)
Thanks. :) They don't have all-you-can-eat cake buffets in the US? There were a few restaurants in the UK about five years ago, although they were almost always Chinese food. To me, that's even better.

Thanks for reading. I thought/hoped this might be a more interesting meme than most.

The closest I've seen is something like Golden Corral, which is an all-you-can-eat buffet in general and started as a steak and salad bar place, but nothing that is specifically all dessert-type items. (though the thought of the existence of something like that makes my inner Tsuzuki a happy Shinigami)

The pic is awsome.
I only just got back from Italy and oddly enough saw you in a dream there ;)
Williamgenkischuldich on 30th September 2010 08:43 (UTC)

I was wearing clothes... right? :)
菖蒲eye_ame on 30th September 2010 08:44 (UTC)
Right ;) We were actually at a shooting range together.
Williamgenkischuldich on 30th September 2010 08:46 (UTC)
That's very strange. I hope I was a good shot. Were you reading about Linx beforehand?
菖蒲eye_ame on 30th September 2010 08:48 (UTC)
Better shoot than Aya was anyway ;)))))))
