Earthquake: Dog Rescued
Spam From Japan: Tokyo After The Earthquake
It's been a rather uneventful day... thank goodness. I went to a family restaurant to get myself out of bed this morning, because it's better than doing nothing.
And then I watched Tiger and Bunny, my first anime of the new season and the one that I've been looking forward to the most. It did NOT disappoint and I grinned all the way through. It's so over the top, bright and cheery! Seiyuu fans will enjoy Hirata Hiroaki and Morita Masakazu in the lead roles. Clearly this is in the genre of these-guys-aren't-gay-but-we-know-you're-t
It takes place in a world where superheroes are real (very similar to Marvel's mutants, but without the 'hate and fear'), sponsored by vast corporations and apprehend villains on a reality TV show. Not quite sure where it takes place -- all cultural refs are Japanese, but you don't get a multinational cast like that in Tokyo. I suppose it really is the future!
I wonder how old Kotetsu is supposed to be though. I'd hate to think 30s is considered old, but it probably IS in mecha anime land.
Can I pretend the excessive product placement is ironic?
