Posting before LJ goes down again...

I'm taking an eight to nine day hiatus from LJ, so you won't hear from me for a little while. I'm going on a vision quest. I might still be tweeting, so check my Twitter feed if you want.

That's it for now. Back soon, promise. Take care everyone!

Aw, it's a shame you didn't like Utapri. :( It's the only thing I'm watching! ^_^ I adore it.

(I do know it's just nonsense. But it's *nice* nonsense).

I think the problem I had with it (apart from watching it in a long line of truly dreadful anime) was that it was played with a straight face. The script appeared to be trying to *show* us the boys' list of personality traits, but it was so clumsy that it didn't work and felt like we were being told. If that makes sense?

Anyway, it's not for me. I'm glad you like it though. :)

For some reason I can't stand Takeru Satoh. I'm not watching Kenshin if he plays the main role XD Well, I wasn't looking forward to it all that much anyway-- I've only read one volume of Kenshin, I don't really know the series. I just like movies about samurai.
Williamgenkischuldich on 7th August 2011 11:04 (UTC)
It does depend on how they play it. If they go at it like a stylised samurai film then it's going to be awesome. I don't know much about Takeru Satou, and have no idea who he is. If the fight choreography is down, it won't matter anyway. :P

He is that dude from Lotte Fit's commercials, he appears with Sasaki Nozomi (they even sing 'Taaakeruu to Nozomiii' rolf). I wasn't watching a lot of tv while in Japan, so I'm not sure how often those get aired, though. Maybe you haven't seen any?

I don't even have a TV... :)

Saddest Movie
For me, nothing beats Grave of the Fireflies. I couldn't bring myself to see it a second time after watching it years ago.

Re: Saddest Movie
Yeah, I agree. I've watched it once, even though I bought it on DVD (it used to be the only way to watch anime!). Once is enough. But I still flashed back to it when I saw fireflies in Nikkou. "Why do fireflies have to die so young?" is pretty much imprinted on my brain.
